Russia aims to borrow $763.6 mln abroad in 2007

MOSCOW, August 28 (RIA Novosti) - The Finance Ministry said Monday the Russian government's 2007 budget proposals set the country's external borrowing at $763.6 million.

Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said Saturday the budget had been drawn up with a surplus of 1.5 trillion rubles ($55.5 bln), or 4.8% of GDP.

In 2007, the state plans to attract $718.9 mln in loans from international financial organizations with maturities of 11 to 12 years, as well as $44.7 mln in loans from foreign governments, banks and companies for terms of five to seven-and-a-half years.

Russia's domestic borrowing in 2007 is projected at 161.3 bln rubles ($6 bln).
