MOSCOW, August 31 (RIA Novosti) - The law on dacha amnesty comes into effect in Russia on September 1.

Andrei Ivakin, a senior official at the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, said Thursday that the law introduces amendments to the registration of real estate rights.

The law will allow Russian citizens to register their property rights of any buildings at their dachas not related to business activities, he said.

Under the law, citizens will get property rights without having to privatize.

"The right to use a land plot is virtually made equal to the property right," Ivakin said.

He also said the new law will allow owners to register plots if their area was enlarged while being used, or if they are located in protected wetland areas.
