MOSCOW, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly Service has not yet received an application on the merger of two Russian aluminum giants, RusAl, SUAL [RTS: SUAL], and Switzerland's Glencore, the service head said Tuesday.
The prospective merger is expected to create a Russian aluminum monopoly and the world's leading producer of primary aluminum.
"We have no materials on this deal," Igor Artemyev told a Moscow news conference. "I think the application will be considered for a long time."
Swiss-based Glencore is the world's largest supplier of commodities and raw materials to industrial consumers.
