MOSCOW, October 2 (RIA Novosti) - Talks between Russia and the United States on Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization will continue in a week, a top Russian delegate said Monday.

Russia has completed bilateral talks with 55 of the 58 members of the world's largest trade body. Negotiations are continuing with the U.S., Moldova and Georgia.

"A certain amount of progress has been made in solving outstanding problems, and the next round of talks has been scheduled for next week," said Maxim Medvedkov, director of the trade negotiations department at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. "Unresolved issues have been reduced to a minimum."

The previous round of talks was held September 27-30 in the U.S., which the economics ministry viewed as constructive without specifying a time for their completion. It was reported earlier the parties would resolve all outstanding issues by late October.

The two countries still have a number of unsettled questions, such as agricultural subsidies and access to the Russian market. In particular, deliveries of beef and pork from the U.S. to Russia were discussed at the July WTO round in St. Petersburg.
