MOSCOW, October 30 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow's municipal authorities have allocated 100 hectares (247 acres) of land in the center of the Russian capital for the construction of a golf course, Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov said Monday.
"We have started planning a golf club in the center of the city, in a bend of the Moscow River," Luzhkov said at the first international conference of New Horizons of Russian Golf. "The Moscow administration has allocated 100 hectares for the construction of the up-to-date golf club."
It will be the second golf club in Moscow, and Luzhkov said the city administration has also identified 10 territories within city limits where golf clubs could be opened. He added that the administration will soon announce a competition for the construction of golf clubs, and that foreign companies will be welcome to participate in the bidding
