* A bilateral agreement with the U.S. on Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) could be signed by the two countries' leaders at an Asia-Pacific summit in Vietnam November 18-19, Russia's economics minister said

* President Vladimir Putin will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of the U.S., China, Japan, and other countries on the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific economic forum in Hanoi next weekend, the Russian foreign minister said

* Russia must fulfill the obligations it made to Georgia as part of talks on its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and Tbilisi will, in turn, make no further demands, the Georgian prime minister said

* Russian oil company Tatneft posted a net profit increase of 20.1%, year-on-year, in the first half of 2006, to $661.8 million, in its un-audited interim consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statement

* Russia's Natural Resources Ministry said it is dissatisfied with the environmental measures taken so far by the operator of the Sakhalin II oil and gas project in Russia's Far East

* Bureaucracy, the 'criminal factor', and environmental regulations are discouraging Chinese investors from investing in Russia's economy, the governor of the Far Eastern Khabarovsk Territory said
