* At a Pacific Rim leaders' summit in Hanoi:

- Russia and the United States signed a bilateral protocol on Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization;

- A bilateral protocol signed by Russia and the United States on Russia's entry into the world trade club creates good conditions for bilateral relations, President Vladimir Putin said;

- Russia's Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref hailed the signing of a final protocol on the country's accession to the World Trade Organization with the United States as a "historic step," one that will help it integrate into the global economy;

- Russia will cut import duties on cars from 25% to 15% and import duties on aircraft from 20% to 10% on average during seven years after joining the world trade club, a senior economics ministry official said;

- Customs rates on industrial goods will go down by 3% on average and the rates on agricultural product supplies will be reduced by about 3%, Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said after the signing of the Russia-U.S. final protocol on WTO entry;

- Branches of foreign insurance companies will be allowed to operate on Russia's market in nine years' time, Gref said;

- Russia and the United States reached agreement on 100 sectors of services during bilateral trade talks, Gref said;

- the U.S. government undertook to guarantee the veterinary safety of pork and beef supplies to Russia in compliance with the requirements of the international veterinary watchdog, Gref said;

- Russia hopes the U.S. Congress will soon abolish the Jackson-Vanik amendment, which restricted trade with the former Soviet Union and remains in force for Russia, Gref said;

- the United States announced its decision to lift its sanctions against Russian military aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi;

* President Vladimir Putin said Russia and Vietnam will now have more tools for bilateral economic cooperation as he inaugurated the first Russian-Vietnamese bank in the capital Hanoi;

* The six-party talks on the North Korea nuclear issue could restart in December, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said
