MOSCOW, November 28 (RIA Novosti) - The number of loss-making enterprises in Russia declined 3.1%, year-on-year, in the first nine months of 2006, to 32.6% of the total number of enterprises, the country's top statistic body said Tuesday.
The State Statistics Service said Russian organizations made a profit (net financial result) of 2,915.5 billion rubles (about $109.19 billion) in the first nine months of 2006 compared with 2,241.3 billion rubles (about $83.94 billion) a year earlier.
In January-September 2006, 61,200 organizations made a profit of 3,171.5 billion rubles (about $118.78 billion), whereas 29,700 companies posted a loss of 256 billion rubles (about $9.58 billion), the agency said.
