MOSCOW, January 11 (RIA Novosti) - An indicator failure set off a missile fuel leak alarm on board a nuclear submarine in Far East waters, but no fuel spillage actually occurred, a Russian naval official said Thursday.
A missile tube was sealed after an alarm system went off Thursday morning in a submarine docked at the Vilyuchinsk base in the Kamchatka Region.
"Some media have cited various sources as saying that there was allegedly a missile fuel component leakage. This information is inaccurate," said Igor Dygalo, an aide to the Navy commander.
He said the missile was in proper condition and no oxidant leakage had been registered.
