Three fishermen drown, two others rescued in southern Russia

VOLGOGRAD, January 14 (RIA Novosti) - Three fishermen have drowned and two others have been rescued in the Volgograd Region in southern Russia, the regional emergencies center said Sunday.
The incident occurred Sunday near the village of Talovka, 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) away from the city of Kamyshin, the emergencies center said.
"Five men were fishing on the lake when they went under the ice. Local farmers who had warned the fishermen about the thin ice went to rescue them," the emergencies center said.
