Russian 2006 budget cash surplus hit $75 billion - ministry

Russia's federal budget cash surplus in 2006 was around $75.3 billion, the Finance Ministry said Thursday, citing preliminary data.
MOSCOW, January 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's federal budget cash surplus in 2006 was around $75.3 billion, the Finance Ministry said Thursday, citing preliminary data.

Budget revenues in 2006 stood at 6.3 trillion rubles ($237.2 billion), up 1.7% on the year's target. Spending stood at 4.3 trillion rubles ($161.9 billion), down 3.8%.

Russia's 2005 federal budget surplus was at 1.6 trillion rubles ($60 billion).

The Federal Tax Service sent almost 3 trillion rubles ($120 billion) to the federal budget (0.5% up on the target), while the Federal Customs Service contributed 2.8 trillion rubles ($103 billion) (up 0.4%).

The Federal Agency for the Management of Federal Property transferred 69.9 trillion rubles ($2.63 trillion) to the federal budget (up 6.1%), while other federal agencies contributed a total of 342.9 trillion rubles ($12.9 trillion), up 28.5%.
