MOSCOW, January 30 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has signed a government resolution to open embassies in Paraguay and Guatemala this year, the Cabinet's press service said Tuesday.
Russia is currently represented in Guatemala by Valery Nikolayenko, ambassador to Costa Rica, and in Paraguay by Yury Korchagin, who is also Russian ambassador to Argentina.
The government ordered the Foreign Ministry to determine the number and schedules of the staff to be employed in the Latin American countries.
The diplomatic missions will be funded from the federal budget.
