Russia's money supply up 40.5% in 2006, 9.9% in Dec.

MOSCOW, January 31 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's money supply (M2) including foreign currency deposits gained 9.9% in December 2006, to end the year at 10.147 trillion rubles ($382.5 billion), the Central Bank (CBR) said Wednesday.

During the whole of 2006, money supply grew 40.5% from 7.221 trillion rubles ($272 billion) at the start of the year, the CBR said.

Russia's M2 is defined by the Central Bank as total cash in circulation outside banks, plus ruble funds on accounts of resident non-financial organizations and individuals.
