YAKUTSK, February 19 (RIA Novosti) - Five people died at a party that got out of control in a village in Russia's Far Eastern Arctic region, local police said Monday.

Three brothers shot their guests, Ignat, 31, and Nikolai, 34, with hunting rifles in the village of Naiba, in the vast diamond and oil-rich Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Sunday morning. They then committed suicide.

"It is not yet clear what led to the fight between the brothers and their guests," the local Interior Ministry said.

After locking their parents in one of the rooms, the brothers decided to commit suicide, following which Alexander, 23, shot his brothers, Andrei, 31 and Gavrila, 20, then fired into his own head.

"Alexander did not die immediately, he died in the hospital, where he was taken with a serious wound," the ministry said.
