MOSCOW, February 21 (RIA Novosti) - Oil output in Russia increased 2.1%, year-on-year, in 2006, to 480 million metric tons (3.5 billion barrels), the country's top statistics body said Wednesday.
The State Statistics Service said oil production grew 3.8%, month-on-month, in December 2006, to 41.4 million metric tons (303.5 million barrels).
Oil accounted for 33.9% of Russian exports, and for 52% of the exports of fuel and energy products in 2006 compared with 34.7% and 54.2%, respectively, a year earlier, the service said.
