MOSCOW, March 6 (RIA Novosti) - Reserves at a major gold deposit in the Ural Region of Sverdlovsk may soon exceed 1,000 metric tons, a deputy head of the Russian mineral resources regulator said Tuesday.
"We are convinced that Sukhoi Log will become a deposit with reserves over 1,000 tons or probably 1,500-1,600 tons. There is potential for substantial growth," Vladimir Bavlov said.
He said new technologies could ensure rapid development of gold deposits and increase profits.
Bavlov cited the example of the Natalkinskoye gold deposit in the Magadan Region in the Far East, whose reserves account for 1,500 tons.
