GROZNY, March 8 (RIA Novosti) - The new Chechen president said Thursday he had nominated the first deputy prime minister for the post of premier of Russia's North Caucasus republic.

Ramzan Kadyrov nominated Odes Baisultanov, who oversaw the rebuilding of Grozny's airport, where regular flights from Moscow resumed Thursday, and reconstruction efforts in the capital of the war-torn republic.

Kadyrov said Baisultanov "has been given the most difficult tasks" and "fulfilled them on time and with a lot of skill" since he became first deputy prime minister last year, when Kadyrov himself was appointed premier.

Baisultanov's candidacy is yet to be approved by the legislature.

Kadyrov became president March 2, when the Chechen parliament approved his candidacy the next day after he was nominated by President Vladimir Putin. He will be inaugurated April 5.
