The businessman's spokesman said Abramovich's corporate interests, including the British Chelsea football club he owns, had not been affected.
Last week, the U.S. magazine Forbes ranked Abramovich sixteenth on a list of the world's richest people, with a personal worth of $18.7 billion. The Daily Mirror reported that the divorced couple had agreed on a record level of support for their children over the next 15 years.
Initial indications of an impending split emerged in the British press in October 2006, when it was reported that Irina Malandina, the businessman's wife, had filed for divorce, which promised to be the world's most expensive.
According to the newspaper The Daily Mail, the main reason was Abramovich's close relationship with a young Russian woman, Darya Zhukova, 23. The two have allegedly been spending a great deal of time together.
Roman Abramovich met Irina in 1990, when she was a stewardess and he was an up-and-coming businessman. Irina became his second wife and together they raised five children. The couple moved to London in 2003.
