MOSCOW, March 23, (RIA Novosti) - An Mi-8 helicopter that went missing two days ago has been discovered in the northwestern Urals, but there are no reports about the fate of six people on board, Gazpromavia carrier said Friday.
"The Mi-2 helicopter searching for the missing Mi-8 spotted it on mountainous terrain [in the Komi Republic]. No other details are available right now," a company spokesman said.
The Mi-8 helicopter, on an environmental monitoring mission over-flying a national park, was reported missing Wednesday after its crew failed to get in touch with ground control.
