Russian arms exports grew 50% in 2001-2006 - Defense Ministry

MOSCOW, March 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russia, which maintains military-technological contacts with 80 countries, increased its arms exports 50% from 2001 through 2006, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

"From 2001 through 2006, Russian arms exports rose 50%, from $4 billion to $6.5 billion," the statement said.

Today, the key importers of Russian military products are China, India, Algeria, Venezuela, Iran, Malaysia and Serbia.
