MOSCOW, April 9 (RIA Novosti) - Cypriot Foreign Minister Yiorgos Lillikas

will meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, during a routine visit to Moscow Monday, a spokesman for Russia's Foreign Ministry said.

Mikhail Kamynin said Russian-Cypriot cooperation in the financial and tourist sectors will dominate the agenda of the talks, which are also expected to focus on ways of overcoming the island's communal rift.

He said Russia is committed to "reaching a fair, viable and comprehensive solution to the Cypriot problem in compliance with UN resolutions on Cyprus and on the basis of both communities' mutual consent."

According to him, Cyprus is a leader in terms of overall foreign investment in the Russian economy.

The Mediterranean island also remains one of the prime destinations for Russian tourists, with more than 120,000 Russians having vacationed there in 2006.

The former British colony has been divided along communal lines since 1974. In April 2004, Cyprus' Greek community voted overwhelmingly to reject a UN-backed plan that would have ended 30 years of partition and enabled the Turkish Cypriots to accede to the European Union along with the Greeks in May.
