MOSCOW, April 9 (RIA Novosti) - The federal budget received 47.61 billion rubles (about $1.8 billion) in revenues from the placement of ruble-denominated government securities in the first quarter of 2007, the finance ministry said on its Web site Monday.

Revenues from government securities placements are calculated as the difference between the revenues of newly placed government papers and expenditures on redemption and interest payment.

The Russian government is seeking to replace borrowing on world markets with domestic borrowing.

The finance ministry earlier said the proportion of foreign debt in Russia's state debt would fall to 53.5% in 2007, to 47.2% in 2008, and to 42.6% in 2009.
