IRKUTSK, May 8 (RIA Novosti) - A senior high school student in the East Siberian city of Irkutsk stabbed his teacher because she threatened to give him a bad mark, local police said Tuesday.
"Having caught the teacher near the entrance to her home, the student stabbed her six times in the back. The teacher was rushed to the regional clinic hospital and is currently in a serious condition in intensive care," a police source said.
The eleventh grader said he was facing a bad mark for physics and that he asked the teacher to be less harsh. The student thought the teacher was treating him too strictly.
An investigation is underway. The student, was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm to the teacher, is currently free on condition he not leave the country before the trial.
