NAZRAN, June 4 (RIA Novosti) - A powerful explosive device went off near an apartment block in Nazran, the former capital in the North Caucasus Republic of Ingushetia, but caused no casualties, a local law-enforcement source said Monday.
The bomb, with power of around 1 kilogram of TNT equivalent, went off Sunday near a two-storey building belonging to the rector of the Islamic Institute in Nazran, the source said.
The blast smashed windows in the building, damaged a fence and the gates, and the rector's Mercedes car, the source said.
