MOSCOW, June 4 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Audit Chamber has started a check into the financial and economic activities of the Russian Central Bank (CBR), a source close to the CBR said Monday.
In late April, the State Duma, the lower house of the country's parliament, instructed the Audit Chamber to check the Central Bank's activities for 2004-2006, particularly the use of its funds and the administration of the bank's budget.
"The audit will last at least half a year," the source said, but declined to specify what the Audit Chamber was currently inspecting at the Central Bank.
