MOSCOW, June 9 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's budget posted an estimated surplus of 770.7 billion rubles (about $30 billion) in the first five months of 2007, the Finance Ministry said Saturday.
The figure is slightly down on the surplus for January-May 2006, which totaled 888.8 billion rubles (about $34 billion at the current exchange rate).
The 2007 federal budget projects a surplus of 1,502 billion rubles ($58 billion). However, the Finance Ministry plans to revise this figure downwards to 638.4 billion rubles (about $25 billion).
