MOSCOW, June 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's government press service said Wednesday the country would grant over 21 million rubles ($808,000) to the technical assistance and cooperation program of the UN nuclear watchdog.
Under the instruction inked by Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov approving a corresponding proposal by the Federal Nuclear Power Agency, and coordinated with the foreign and finance ministries, Russia will assign 20.8 million rubles ($800,000) in a voluntary contribution to the International Atomic Energy Agency fund, in addition to 233,400 rubles ($8,977) to pay for research programs in Russia.
The funds will be allocated from the 2007 budget intended for international cooperation.
