MOSCOW, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - The head of Russia's energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP], who is recovering from recent renal surgery, met with Ukraine's fuel and energy minister Friday.
Alexei Miller and Yuriy Boiko discussed prospects for cooperation and the implementation of joint fuel and energy projects.
Miller was hospitalized June 1 with kidney stones. However, following complications he underwent emergency surgery.
The Gazprom chief was unable to attend a recent economic forum in St. Petersburg, where other top officials from his company held meetings with a number of foreign businessmen, including representatives of China's CNPC, U.S. Chevron, Dutch Gasunie, and Germany's Siemens.
