NOVOSIBIRSK, August 12 (RIA Novosti) - One person has died and two others have been injured in an accident at an oil refinery in Tomsk in West Siberia, the regional emergencies center said Sunday.
The accident occurred at 03:50 a.m. local time (8:50 p.m. GMT) August 12 at a compressor station owned by Tomskneftekhim when leaks from equipment caused fire, the emergencies center said.
The fire was soon extinguished while the injured persons were hospitalized. An investigation into the accident is under way, the emergencies center said.
The emergencies center rejected some media reports that the accident caused the release of ethylene.
