TYUMEN, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - More than half a dozen luxury automobiles worth over $436,000 have been stolen in the West Siberian town of Surgut, where an auto shop was raided while security guards were away, local police said Wednesday.
Authorities said unidentified intruders stole eight foreign automobiles Tuesday night, among them a Lexus, a BMW, a Mercedes, two Subarus and three Toyotas.
The thieves also made off with a safe containing documentation for the cars, and over $39,000 in cash.
Police have launched a criminal investigation.
