MOSCOW, September 13 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom Neft, the oil-producing arm of energy giant Gazprom, said its subsidiary, Kholmogorneftegaz, had won a tender to prospect and develop two oil fields in East Siberia.
Gazprom Neft stressed the significance of the Vakunaisky and the Ignyalinsky oil fields, given their proximity to the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline route, which Russia is building to pump crude eastward to Asian markets.
The Vakunaisky field holds 140 million metric tons of crude and 63 billion cubic meters of natural gas in preliminary estimated resources (C3), and 25 million metric tons of crude and 50 billion cu m of gas in prospective reserves (D1).
The Ignyalinsky field has 26 million metric tons of oil in C3 reserves and 45 million tons and 15 billion cu m in D1 reserves.
