MOSCOW, September 17 (RIA Novosti) - Three workers died after an ammonia leak at a chemicals plant in Ufa, the capital of Russia's republic of Bashkortostan in the southwest Urals, a city administration source said on Monday.
The three bodies, which also showed signs of poisoning chlorine gas and hydrogen sulfide, were found late on Sunday in a workshop of the factory. Another worker has been hospitalized in a grave condition.
The source said poisonous gas leak was caused by safety violations. An investigation is underway, and a criminal case could be launched.
