NOVOSIBIRSK, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - Five people drowned when their car fell into a flooded foundation pit in the Omsk Region, in western Siberia, a source in the regional emergencies service said Monday.
On Sunday, local villagers looking into the pit made the grisly discovery of a Lada containing five dead passengers. A subsequent investigation concluded that the driver had presumably lost control, the car then veering off the road, flipping over and falling into the pit.
