MOSCOW, October 4 (RIA Novosti) - Sukhoi Log, a major gold deposit in Eastern Siberia, has reserves of almost 3,000 metric tons of gold and over 1,500 metric tons of silver, the Russian natural resources minister said Thursday.
Yuri Trutnev said the recent revaluation of the deposit's reserves would considerably push up its value, adding that the deposit would be licensed for use through an investment tender.
Sukhoi Log is currently on the list of Russia's unallocated mineral resources. After a bill on foreign investment in Russia's strategic sectors is passed, the government is expected to include the gold field in the list of strategic deposits that can only be controlled by residents.
