A day before the meetings Kudrin, also a Russian deputy premier, is expected to meet with World Bank President Robert Zoellick and IMF Managing Director Rodrigo de Rato, a source in the Russian delegation reported, while saying the agenda of the meeting was not yet known.
In addition to sessions of the IMF and its sister organization the World Bank Group, which will present an annual World Economic Outlook prepared by World Bank experts, Washington will host talks between finance ministers and central bank chiefs of the Group of Seven (G7) countries.
Although a member of the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations, Russia is not a member of the G7, which comprises United States, Japan, Germany, France, Britain, Italy and Canada and focuses on economic policy.
Kudrin, along with finance chiefs from China, Korea, Kuwait, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, will meet with G7 officials in Washington.
