CHELYABINSK, November 20 (RIA Novosti) - US company Numotech is to build a plant for the manufacture of special medical equipment for invalids in the town of Kasli, Chelyabinsk Region, Anatoly Ivanov, director general of the project's construction partner, told RIA Novosti.
According to Ivanov, the plant will produce four types of invalid care products, including back support systems, anti-decubitus cushions, oxygen concentrators, and artificial legs.
The plant's products will be sold in the US and Russia. Construction will commence in the summer of 2008, and the plant will be commissioned in the summer of 2009, Ivanov said.
The total cost of the project, a joint undertaking between Numotech and Chelyabinsk specialists, is about $20 million. The Numotech investment project has been insured against political risks by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the director general added.
