MOSCOW, November 22 (RIA Novosti) - Under an EU agreement on illegal migrants, which comes into force Friday, the Czech Republic is to repatriate a Russian to Moscow, a Federal Migration Service (FMS) spokesman said Thursday.

"The Czech Republic is repatriating to Russia a Russian national born in Chechnya called Said Batalov, who requested asylum in the Czech Republic as far back as May, but was refused," Konstantin Poltoranin said.

"Batalov is to arrive in Moscow on Friday. He will be met at the airport and questioned by FMS officers and then released," Poltoranin said.

The Russia-EU agreement on visa facilitation and readmission was signed in May 2006 and comes into force on November 23, 2007.

The Russia-EU readmission agreement is designed to facilitate the expulsion of illegal immigrants, who have come from Russia or via Russia to the EU, and create favorable conditions for the development and expansion of reciprocal links between Russia and EU member countries.

The agreement lays down simplified procedures for processing visas for official delegations, journalists, businessmen, scientists, cultural and educational figures and students studying abroad.
