Russia's Beluga vodka bound for foreign markets

Russia's leading producer of distilled spirits, Synergy, plans to export vodka under the Beluga brand in the U.S., EU and Ukraine, the company said on Thursday.
MOSCOW, February 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's leading producer of distilled spirits, Synergy, plans to export vodka under the Beluga brand in the U.S., EU and Ukraine, the company said on Thursday.

Synergy, which produces Beluga Gold Line and Beluga Classic, as well as Russky Loyd (Russian Ice), Sily Prirody (Powers of Nature), Belenkaya (the White One) and Gosudarev Zakaz (Sovereign's Order) premium vodkas, said the step would "allow the company to effectively develop its own export programs."

The average price for a half-liter bottle is 850 rubles ($34). Daily production is nine hundred bottles.

Synergy's net income calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards increased 37%, year on year, in 2006 to $453 million. The company's common shares are listed on the RTS (Russian Trading System) and MICEX (Moscow Inter-Bank Currency Exchange) trading floors.
