STAVROPOL, June 7 (RIA Novosti) - A light cargo plane An-2 crashed on Saturday in the Stavropol Region, in south Russia, killing both pilots, a spokesman for the Russian emergencies ministry said.
"Two people, the plane's captain and a pilot, have died. The plane's owner is being established and the bodies identified," the spokesman said, adding that the aircraft had been completely destroyed.
Preliminary reports said that the accident had been caused by poor visibility following bad weather.
The last major aircraft accident in Russia occurred in late May, when an An-12 cargo plane crashed near the Urals city of Chelyabinsk, killing all nine crewmembers on board.
