Two workers killed by ammonia leak in south Russia

MOSCOW, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - Two workers died after an ammonia leak at a meat plant in the Saratov Region in southern Russia, a local police source said on Sunday.
The leak of about 600 kg of ammonia at the meat plant in the city of Balakovo occurred at around 23:15 p.m. Moscow time (19:15 GMT) on Saturday after a blast at the plant's compressor station, the police source said.
The consequences of the ammonia leak had been eliminated by 1:00 a.m. Moscow time on Sunday (21:00 p.m. GMT Saturday), the police source said.
