YEKATERINBURG, July 23 (RIA Novosti) - A two-meter (seven-foot) pet boa constrictor fell out of an apartment window in the Russian Urals city of Yekaterinburg, giving locals a scare, a local animal protection charity said on Wednesday.
"The snake injured its nose and an eye. It is currently in a terrarium, and the owners are being searched for. The boa constrictor is in a state of stress," a spokesperson for Zoozaschita said.
Terrified locals first called local dog trainers, experienced in dealing with aggressive animals. Later, the specialists from the charity were called in.
The organization has posted a message on its website calling for the snake's owner to come forward.
Last August, a small pet crocodile tumbled from the 12th floor balcony of a Russian apartment in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, on the Volga River, landing on concrete but surviving with only a broken tooth.
