Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ordered the Foreign Ministry on Monday to sign an agreement with Montenegro on visa-free travel.
MOSCOW, July 28 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ordered the Foreign Ministry on Monday to sign an agreement with Montenegro on visa-free travel.

A draft agreement allowing Montenegrin citizens visa-free trips to Russia of up to 30 days was approved by the Russian government on July 21. Montenegro already allows Russian citizens to visit without visas.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic agreed to step up negotiations on simplifying the bilateral visa regime during a meeting in Moscow at the end of April.

The Russian foreign minister said he hoped that visa-free travel would increase tourist flows between the two countries.

In March, Montenegro's neighbor Serbia unilaterally abolished visa requirements for Russian citizens. Moscow intends to scrap visa requirements for Serbian citizens in response.
