MOSCOW, July 31 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian antimonopoly watchdog's commission will hold an initial session to discuss mining giant Mechel, coal giant Evraz Holding and mining company Raspadsky Coal within the next fortnight, a FAS state secretary said Thursday.
Andrei Tsarikovsky said the Federal Antimonopoly Service would "try to speed up a probe into the situation surrounding Mechel, Evraz Holding and Raspadsky Coal."
"We will try to hold the first session of the commission within the next two weeks," he said.
The probe follows accusations that the companies have been abusing their dominant positions on the coking coal market.
Raspadsky Coal, Evraz Holding, and Mechel control over half the Russian coking coal market.
