NIZHNY NOVGOROD, July 31 (RIA Novosti) - An eight-year-old girl died after a set of goalposts fell on her during a mini-football match in central Russia's Penza Region, local police said Thursday.
The child was playing near the goalposts in a gym at a summer camp when the accident occurred. The gym is part of a local Interior Ministry education center.
"The girl received fatal injuries," the spokesman said, adding that the girl was the daughter of a worker at the education center. An investigation is ongoing.
In a similar incident in March, a 12-year-old girl at a school in the Republic of Bashkiria, in the southwest Urals, was killed when a set of goalposts fell on her during a physical education class.
