NOVOSIBIRSK, August 26 (RIA Novosti) - Police have seized almost 25 kg (55 pounds) of heroin from two Tajik nationals in Irkutsk, East Siberia, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
During the operation, police detained a Tajik national carrying a bag with around 19.5 kg of heroin. A search of his hotel room revealed another 3 kg of drugs.
Later police detained his accomplice, of Tajik origin, who hid around 2 kg of heroin under his car seat.
A criminal case has been opened, and the investigation is ongoing.
