MOSCOW, August 27 (RIA Novosti) - Two people were killed and another wounded as masked assailants opened fire in a cafe in the Russian republic of North Ossetia, a police source said on Wednesday.
The attack happened in a cafe at a gas station in Vladikavkaz, the capital of the North Caucasus republic. The assailants then drove off in a car.
The car was discovered burnt out 40 minutes later.
Russia's North Ossetia borders on South Ossetia, the Georgian breakaway republic that was attacked by Georgia forces on August 8. Russia's subsequent operation to "force Georgia to peace" was concluded on August 12.
