TYUMEN, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - Almost 9 kg (19.8) lbs of heroin have been seized in the West Siberian city of Tyumen, a spokeswoman for the regional security service said on Wednesday.
Two women in possession of over 8.9 kg of heroin, packed in nine plastic bags, were detained at the city's railway station.
"A 21-year-old resident of Tyumen organized the supply route, and her 55 year-old accomplice was a drug mule who transported large batches of heroin from Yekaterinburg to Tyumen by rail," the source said.
A criminal case was launched. The two women face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
