ST. PETERSBURG, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Drug police have seized over 37 kg (82 lbs) of heroin from a Tajik national in Russia's second largest city of St. Petersburg, the local drug police department said on Wednesday.
The drugs were found during a search of a suspected drug dealer's apartment.
"During the search, plastic bags containing heroin, packed in cartons, were found in the kitchen" a police statement read.
The 26-year-old apartment owner, who had a previous conviction for drug dealing, is believed to have been involved in cutting the heroin and packing it into single doses.
