Russia's international reserves down $71.5 bln in October

MOSCOW, November 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's international reserves declined by $71.468 billion to $484.6 billion in October, the Central Bank said on Thursday.

The country's international reserves that include gold and foreign currency shrank by $25.57 billion in September and $14.3 billion in August against their steady growth in the previous months of the year.

Capital outflow, the revaluation of assets due to the lower euro exchange rate and the allocation of $50 billion to Vnesheconombank to help Russian banks and companies refinance their foreign debts, amid the ongoing global financial crisis, are thought to be the main causes for a decrease in Russia's international reserves.
