"From our survey, we see that there is no political crisis," said Valery Fedorov, who heads the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM).
The poll showed that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin remains the country's most popular politician with 78% of public support in November, almost unchanged from 79% in October.
Putin is widely perceived to be in control of the Russian economy. At a congress of the ruling United Russia party on November 20, he announced new government measures to help domestic companies weather the financial crisis, including cuts in profit tax.
Support for Dmitry Medvedev has fallen slightly from a highpoint of 79% in August, when Russia and Georgia fought a five-day war over South Ossetia, to 74% in November, according to the survey.
The pollster said confidence in the Russian government was 53%, the highest figure for two years. Around 61% respondents said they supported the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, against 59% a year ago.
The survey was conducted from November 22-23. A total of 1,600 people were polled. The margin of error is 3.4%.
